Booker T. Choirs

Booker T. Washington is extremely proud to host several award wining choirs.  Not only have the Booker T. Choirs won many awards, they have also performed at many different conventions such as TMEA, and ACDA. Choral groups from Booker T. have won numerous consecutive Sweepstake Trophies at UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contests, and perform all around Dallas at various venues and competitions.

9/10 Choir

This beginning mixed choir class is made up of freshmen and sophomores that are new to choir at Booker T.
This choir focuses on building choral technique and musical literacy through sightreading. This choir performs at school and collaborative concerts.

Varsity Chorale

This varsity, auditioned mixed choir class is made up of juniors and seniors that are experienced singers, ready to work and perfect their craft. This choir is our top choir, in which the student masters of the craft get exposed to new, difficult pieces that challenge them.

Meistersingers

Meistersingers is our auditioned chamber choir, specializing in intimate, often a cappella, choral pieces. Meistersingers has performed all over DFW, including at Neiman Marcus's "Breakfast With Santa" and KPMG's Family for Literacy Fundraiser at Northwood Country Club.

Vocal Technique

Voice Technique is an introductory course taught by Ms. Audra Scott designed to teach you how to make your voice sound more powerful, how to use vocal technique to expand your range and expression, how to become more confident in vocal performances, and how to sing in English and Italian (freshmen), then French and German (sophomores). All vocal students are required to take this class their first two years at Booker T.
