UIL State Solo and Ensemble Results5/28/2016 Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the State solo and Ensemble competition this morning in Austin. We had 8 I (Superior) ratings and 5 II (Excellent) Ratings.

Baccalaureate is this Sunday (5/29) at First United Methodist Church for the Varsity Mixed Choir. Your Call time is 1 PM, and you will perform at 2 PM. Wear your uniforms! The choir banquet is this Sunday at 7 For Parties (150 Turtle Creek Blvd #107, Dallas, TX 75207) from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. State Solo and Ensemble5/11/2016 The Texas state solo and ensemble competition is on Saturday, May 28th at The University of Texas at Austin The voice section starts at 9 AM and SHOULD be over by 12. There is bus transportation available from the school leaving at 3AM (Not a misprint, the very dark early morning) and arriving back at 11PM (Not a misprint, the very dark night) for ALL of the all state competitions (voice, band, jazz, etc), or you can just meet us in Austin. Students will be accompanied by Mr. Alberto Torres on piano so please submit a copy of your music by next Monday (May 16th) Voice Teachers, Natalie Mitchell and Poornima Ravi, will be in charge of the vocal department at this event. Please contact them if you have any problems during the event at (817) 484-7588 or (917) 952-8923 IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER: 1. Bring your own music in the original book. The judges MUST have an original copy. 2. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your call time. 3. Bring money for lunch/snacks. The students listed below are signed up to attend. Posted 5/10/2016 in the classroom Jury recordings will begin next week (5/16/2016) All Members of the Varsity Mixed Choir will record Leonardo beginning May 16th and will sing a classical solo during their Exam period on June 1st. Students in vocal tech will sing the solo assigned to them, juniors and seniors who did not sing in the senior recital will perform a solo of their choice. Non-Varsity Women will record Lift thine eyes (beginning May 16th) and will sing their most recent vocal tech solo on the day of their exam (May 27th and May 31st)
